The female Eider is a dark brown bird and the original provider of the celebrated eiderdown. The colony of Eiders on the Farne Islands, Northumberland were protected by St. Cuthbert in 676AD, thought to be one of the first examples of wildlife conservation.
This dark beer mirrors the plumage of the female Eider. Its smooth and stable malty taste characterises the steadfastness of the Eiders, as they nonchalantly ride the waves of even the stormiest of seas!
